Abstract:
Dynamic changes of morphological anatomy of integration sections for distant grafting between soybean and pumpkin were analyzed to explore the mechanism of graft-induced plant variation.Soybean scions from soybean varieties Heinong 48 were grafted onto the stocks (black seed pumpkin) with five treatments for the section length of soybean scions so that the effects of scion section length on graft survival rate and the dynamic changes of morphological anatomy of integration sections were explored. The results showed that there were significant differences for the survival rate between the groups, the highest survival rate could reach 80% with the fastest healing speed when the scion section length was 1.0 cm, and 1.3 cm scion section length ranked the second. Electron microscopy scan results of integration sections for 1.0 cm scion section length at different periods after grafting showed that the healing process of scion and stock could be divided into three stages: Callus formation stage (1.8 d after grafting); Vascular tissue differentiation stage (9.12 d after grafting); Terminal stage of vascular tissue differentiation (13.35 d after grafting). Those results would provide theoretical and practical reference for soybean distant grafting.
