Abstract:
Low-K sensitive and low-K tolerant soybean[Glycine max(L.) Merr.]varieties, Tiefeng31 and Shennong6, were used to study the biological responses of them to low-potassium stress by sand culture in the presence of 0.5 mmol·L-1 K and 3.0 mmol·L-1 K. After 25 d of growth, leaf area, special leaf weight (SLW), soluble sugar content, amylum content, Ca2+-ATPase and Mg2+-ATPase of leaf were investigated. The results showed that leaf area of sensitive variety was higher and SLW was declined under low K stress, while that of tolerant variety changed slightly under K deficiency condition. The soluble sugar was lower than those at adequate K supply, especially to tolerant variety under low K stress. Furthermore, the amylum content of sensitive variety was higher and that of tolerant variety was declined under low K stress. Ca2+-ATPase and Mg2+-ATPase of tolerant variety changed slightly, but those of sensitive variety were all declined dramaticlly under low K stress.
