Abstract:
The objective of this study was to discusse the disadvantage of giant ragweed(Ambrosia trifida) to crops in dry land farming. In different fertility level, the effects of giant ragweed competition on morphological character, yield character of soybean were studied. The results showed that in the whole soybean growing season, Ambrosia trifida had a significant inhibition on height and branch of soybean, especially in the early growth stage. In no fertilization condition, plant height in mixed populations was significantly higher than that of soybean monoculture population. As the increasing of giant ragweed density, branch number and branch length showed decrease and then increase trend, which was contrary to plant height. In addition, in mixed populations under the conditions of fertilization, the height of the soybean was lower than the unfetilizated, which can explain that Ambrosia trifida has inhibition on soybean not only in the light also for water, fertilizer aspects. The soybean biomass above the ground decreased when the density of trifida increased at branching and podding stage.
