Abstract:
Soybean Cyst Nematode (Heterodera glycines) is an important root disease which causes significant economic damage to soybean. Rhizobia are bacterial symbionts of Leguminous plants and of advantage for root colonization. In the present study an attempt was made to use improved method namely half a nodule for screening antagonistic Rhizobia against Heterodera glycines. Soil samples were collected from seven provinces in China and soybean root nodules were trapped from the soil sample. Twenty-three stains were screened from soybean root nodules. Effect of H.glycines J2 treated with different strain suspentions and fermentation filtrates was tested. The results showed that Snb21, Snb53, Snb92, Snb166 and Snb711 strains were against H.glycines J2 after 48 h; Snb166 and Snb711 were effective significantly after 72 h, the corrected mortality rate of nematodes of fermentation filtrate with Snb166 were 84.27% after 72 h.
