Abstract:
Protein and fat contents of 1012 Shaanxi soybean accessions were analyzed.The results showed that the mean contents of protein and fat were 43.30±2.69% and 16.76 ±1.41%,respectively,which indicated that the mean content of protein is rather high and the mean content of fat is low.Protein content was significantly correlated negatively with fat content,and the correlation coefficient was -0.404**.Both of protein and fat content positively correlated with growth days and negatively correlated with plant height;highly significant positive correlation were found between fat content and 100-seed weight,while protein content and 100-seed weight were significant negatively correlated.Protein content and fat content varied with flower color,hair color,pod habit,seed coat color and seed shape,and it was more obvious in different seed coat color,seed shape and pod habit.Black and kidney seed which with indeterminate pod habit had low protein and fat content,while bi-color and kidney seed which with indeterminate pod habit were low in protein content.The result could be used as reference in soybean quality breeding for choosing parents and handling hybrid population.Twelve outstanding accessions may be used to breed soybean variety with high protein content and large seed.
