Abstract:
Effect s of different nitrogens(NO3--N ,NH4+ -N , NO3--NH4+)on nit rate reductase (N R)andg lutamine sy nthetase(GS)activities , and seed protein contents of soybean cultivars during pod -bearing periodw ere investigated .The experimental result s indicated that NR activities of leaves in four soybean geno typestreated by NO3- -N were obviously enhanced .However , NR act ivities of these genotypes treated by NH4+-N were the low est in three kinds of nit rogens .GS act ivit ies induced by NO3--NH4+and NH4+ -N w ere remarkablyincreased .Seed protein content s of four genoty pes induced by three kinds of ni trogens were higherthan those done by H2O(CK).The correlation between leaf NR activity and seed protein content w as ex tremelysignif icant (r = 0 .633*).Hence it is suggested that high N R activity in soybean leaves should be one of bio -chemical index fo r selecting soybean germplasms wi th seed hig h protein .
