Abstract:
Effect s of soybean mosaic virus on seed trait s of soybean cultivars inoculated wi th strain Sa at dif ferentg row th stages (V1 and R1)were studied .The result s showed that early infection caused g reater reduction ofy ield and higher percentages of seeds mo ttling than late infect ion did .There showed significant negative co rrelationsbetween disease index and ag ronomic characters such as yield per plant , seed number per plant , plantheight and so on .The ef fects of SMV on most of the ag ronomic characters were g reater in susceptible than in resistantcultivars and the similar were found between qualitative resistant cultivars and quant itative resistance cultivars.Therefore , the quanti tative resistance to SMV can well co nt rol the effects of SMV in the f ield as i t isclose to the qualitative resistance .
