Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to (ⅰ)determine F1 seed yield heterosis in soybean ,(ⅱ)ex plo regenetic performance of soybean heterosis and(ⅲ)screen some highly heterotic combinatio ns .715 elite soybeanv arieties or lines were used as parent s to make 1326 crosses f rom 1996 to 2000 at seven locations , in w hich 624v arieties or lines come f rom China and 91 f rom fo reig n count ries .To evaluate heterosis of these crosses , their F1seed yields w ere tested w ith two replicatio ns at seven locat ions respectively .The most popular cultivars releasedin local area were used as check varieties .176 combinatio ns were selected according to their heterosis and used asthe second yield test .The experiment of each location w as conducted at tw o sites simultaneously .The result sshowed that the average high parent heterosis(HPH), mid -parent heterosis(MPH)and check variety heterosis(CKH)w as 6 .8 , 21 .0 , and 11 .9 % respectively , the percentage of crosses with HPH &CKH over 20 % was18 .3 %in the first yield test , w hile the average HPH &CKH w as 22 .5 and 21 .1 % respectively , the percentageof crosses with HPH &CKH over 20 %w as 22 .1 % in the second yield test .The analyses for different patternsof crosses indicated that combinations made of distant parents might have higher heterosis.Through tw otimes y ield test s , 39 hig hly heterotic combinations were screened , w hich average HPH &CKH w as 39 .6 and33 .2 % respectively .
