Abstract:
Natural incidence of purple seed stain incited by Cercospora kikuchii w as investig ated in 37 soybeancultivars belonging to MG 0 -Ⅷ .The results show ed that incidence of purple seed stain w as affected by weathercondition , maturing stage and resistance of soybean cultivars .Late -maturing cultivars appearing resistance tonatural infection mig ht be due to disease escape rather than genetic resistance .45 soybean cultiv ars w ereidentified for resistance to seed infection by artificial inoculation w ith C .kikuchii in screenhouse in 1998 and ing reenhouse in 1999 .Sig nificant ly resistant difference to purple seed stain among cult ivars w as discovered in tw otests .How ever , average value of disease index of 45 cultivars fo r greenhouse test w as much low er than that forscreenhouse test .In order to accurately evaluate the resistance of soybean to purple seed stain , It w as suggested that the maturing times of cultivars are synchronized by picking of f flowers of early -maturing cultivars at theearly flowering stage , tag and investigate the inoculated pods .In addit ion , high susceptible cultivars are need forcont rol .The resistant cultivars must be identif ied for two o r more times .
