Abstract:
Using pot ex periment , we did a comparative study on the roo t characteristics among 15 early maturing, 14 medium maturing and 12 later maturing soybean varieties .The results show ed :There were dif ferences inthe root characteristics among soybean varieties of dif ferent maturities .The root system of the later maturing varietiesw as best developed , the next w as that of the medium maturing varieties , w hile the root system of the earlymaturing varieties w as relatively least developed .The difference of the roo t characteristics did not show obviouslyin seedling stage.
