Abstract:
The differential responses to yield recurrent selection under Nanjing and Raleigh co nditions on ms1 intermiting population RS6Y w ere evaluated in Nanjing in 1995 , 1996 and 1998 .The sig nificant yield increases afterfirst and second cy cle yield recurrent selection in Nanjing w ere obtained as 9 .45 %and 5 .63 %, respectively ,w hile only 5 .24 % total increase , but not significant w as obtained af ter tw o cycles selection in Raleig h w hen theyw ere tested in Nanjing .It indicate the dif ferent ial responses to select ion under dif ferent ecological conditions atv arious sites were concluded .There was no sig nificant indi rect selection respo nse on ag ronomic and seed qualitytrai ts , including protein content and oil content .However , there appeared increase on plant height , No .ofnodes , single plant y ield , number of pods per plant , number of seeds per plant , and some decrease on 100 -seedw eight , but not significant .There also appeased some decrease of genetic variation in ag ronomic t raits undery ield recurrent selection , w hich should be further studied .
