Abstract:
In pot ex periment , we did a comparative study on root characteristics with 19 indeterminate and 17sub -indeterminate soybean varieties .The results show ed that there w ere dif ferences in the root characterist icsbetween indeterminate and sub -indeterminate soybean varieties .The sub -indeterminate soybean varieties hada relatively well-developed root sy stem compared wi th that of the indeterminate soybean varieties .The fo rmerhad mo re roo t w eight , larger root volume , mo re root surface and longer leng th of lateral root .
