Abstract:
Soybean seeds w ere t reated w ith prechilling (3 -5 ℃).Results showed that the germination rate andvigour index of soybean seeds treated increased notably , the t reatment w ith prechilling for 15 day s w as the mosteffective .During germinating period , the conductivity rate w as lower and the respiratory intensity increasedmore rapidly than that of the control , the activi ty of superoxide dismutase (SOD), and peroxidase(POD)all increased, the rate of product of O2-.,and the accumulation of MDA w ere lower than those of the cont rol .Theseindicated that prechilling could improve bo th the act ive oxygen metabolism and the seedling grow th of soybeanseeds during germinat ing period .
