Abstract:
Maternal and seed direct genetic effects of protein content in soy bean seeds were analyzed by a newgeneral genet ic model (Zhu &Weir 1994 , Zhu Jun 1994)using incomplete 10 diallel crosses w ith 5 high proteinsoybeans (39 .2 —46 .64 %).The results showed that :(1)There w ere significant addit ive and dominant effect sfrom bo th maternal plant and seed it self .Seed direct additive and were the most important , accounting for 81 .4 %of total genet ic effect s , follow ed by the seed dominant effect(8 .9 %).Maternal additive and dominant effectsw ere significant but small .(2)There w as no significant addi tive and dominant interact ion between maternalplant ×seed.(3)Estimates of additive and dominance f rom seed direct effect and maternal plant effect variedin magnitude and in positive and neg ative direction among the parents .
