Abstract:
Sudies o n the trannsmission of Phy tophthora ro ot ro t of soybea n had beencarried o ut w ith the soil debris and th e seeds w hich came f rom natura l diseased fields asw ell as the soil and seeds which inoculated w ith the pathog en. It show s thatPhytophthora ro ot ro t o f soy bean is mainly t ransmi tted by the soi l a nd dcbri s w hichnaturally infected wi th pathog en, The seeds ca n be infected w hen the young seed pod isinoculated wi th pa thogen. When pla nted, these seeds can cause nearby plant s to beinfected altho ugh they ca n no t germinate themselv es. So far w e have no suf ficientevidence to testi fy the seeds naturally infected w ith the pa thog en in g rowing field cant ransmi t this disease.
