Abstract:
The present paper report s kary oty pes of three ty pes of soybean Xiaoheidou, Daheidouand Huangdou. Results are as follows: The chromosomal number of somatic cells of threetypes of soybean are all 40, and are mainly median and submedian chromosomes. Only onepair of sa tellites w as found in each type, and attached to the largest chromosomes. Xiaoheidouwas found to hav e the karyotype 2n= 40= 28m+ 12sm( 2SAT) ; Daheidou w as show n tohav e the karyoty pe 2n= 40= 6M+ 18m+ 12sm+ 4st ( 2SAT) ; Huangdou had the karyo type2n= 2M+ 30m+ 8sm( 2SAT) . Karyoty pes of the three ty pes sugg est that soybean had beenev olving f rom unsymmet ry to symmet ry in karyo type. The diversity of karyotypes of soybeanalso sugg est that it is a plant having several ecoty pes.
