Abstract:: Cy tochemical locali zatio n o f g lycoproteins on cell w all surface o f soybean seed coa tsduring dev elo pmental was observ ed by elect ron micro sco py. The g lycoproteins lay er w asshow n to be present o n the cell wall surface af ter staining w ith ruthenium red. Thethickness of g lycoprotein layer seemed to hav e increased during seed dev elopment , and atstag es of develo pment 25 - 30 d. af ter anthesis the g lycopro teins lay s are thickest ,about 50- 60nm.
