Abstract:
Study result o f 17 determinate and semi - determinate summer soy bean va rietiesshow s that the lo ng a nd sho rt f low ering and pod leng thening perio d is an impo rtant factor for selecting lo ng or sho rt duratio n period of summer soybea n va rieties. There is differencebetw een dif ferent ma turing types v arieties on reproductiv e orga n develo pment.Flow ers and po ds o f early - maturing v arieties a re faster in dev elopment , sho rter info rming period a nd faster in pod shedding than late v arieties. When the ea rly-maturingva rieties come into middle and larg e pods fo rming ( similar to R4 stage) perio d, the la tematuring v arieties a re in the course o f f low ering , Young and li t tle po ds fo rming ( simi la rto R2- R3 stage) period. The early- ma turing v arieties i s about 10 days short fo r ful lblooming a nd f low er ending stag e, about 5 day s sho rter at ini tial podding stage and 10-15 days sho rt at f louri sh podding stag e and fi lling stag e tha n la te- maturing o nes.Analysi s sug gests that 25 day s i s the suitable f low ering and podding period fo r summerso ybean.
