Abstract:: This article is the first repor t of the v ariatio n of roo t ti ssue st ructure cel ls f rom "Bao Jiao 83- 5029" and "Ke 8118" soy beans under wa ter- log ged st ress. With the increaseo f wa ter - log ged intensi ty. "Bao Jiao 83- 5029" manifested w ater - toleranceg radually. The amount of roo ts dev eloped and the total area o f roo t system became larger.The cell meristema tic ability of pericycle and cambium at "Bao Jiao 83- 5029" becamest ro ng er so that pro duced a larg e number o f cells. On the o ther hand, the cel lmeristema tic ability of pericycle and cambium o f "Ke 8118" was weak. Cells of co rtexw ere empty and shriv elled. Ev entually the cel ls became necrotic and shedding.
