Abstract:
In present study , tw enty- one so ybean accessions wi th host resista nce to di fferentSMV st rains and 7 susceptible cul tiv ars or lines w ere a nalysed for their g enetic diversi tyusing RAPD. Tw enty 10- mer random primers w ere used to ampli fy the tota l DN Af rom 28 soy bean accessions. The reult s show ed tha t repriducible amplified productscould be go t wi th 18 primers. The leng th o f amplificatio n product s are betw een 0. 6- 4.6kb. Totally 165 RAPD bands w ere identified, of which , 104 bands w ere commom in al lthe accessions and 61 bands w ere polymo rphic betw een any two accessions. The polymorphic bands accounted for 37% o f the to tal ampli fied ba nds. These primers could bedivided into six g roups. 1) no ampli ficatio n products; 2) no polymorphisms betw een amplifica tion products; 3) po lymorphic bands accounted fo r less tha n 15% of the totalbands; 4) polymo rphi sms betw een 15% - 30% ; 5) polymorphisms betw een 30% -50% ; 6) po lymo phi sms abov e 50% . Based on the g enetic distance mat rix, cluster analysi s w ere conducted. The result s show ed tha t these soybea n accessio ns co uld be div idedinto five g ro ups. Cultiv ars and lines clustered togeth er in a ny g roup o r subg roup w ereconsistent wi th thei r pedig ree and g eo graphical dist ributio n.
