Abstract:
A field ex periment w hich consist of two so ybean g enotypes w as co nducted to studythe ef fects o f N application a t dif ferent stag es on nodula tion, g row th and yield of soybeans. Al though a starter N of 25 kg N /ha co uld cause to obtain hig h nodule dry w eighty at nit rog en nutrient f rom the N-fix ation i s insufficient for max imuming plant g row thand yield. A N top dressing o f 50 kg N /ha a t f low ering stag e ( R1) o r seed fo rmationstag e ( R5) , co uld cause both v arieties to obtain highest biomass and yield. Too high Napplicatio n before flow ering reduced both nodula tion a nd N-fixa tion sig ni fica nt ly. Furthertoo high N applica tion befo re flow ering stag e had no sig nificant ef fect on so ybeanyield comparing w ith the t reatment of applying a sta rter N of 25 kg N /ha.
