Abstract:
Genetic improvement of main ag ronomic characters of so ybean v arieties dev elopedby crossbreeding f rom 1967 to 1993 in Liaoning wa s studied. Resul ts rev ea led tha t seedw eight per plant, pods per plant, seeds per plant , stem thickness, seeds per po d, 100-seed w eig ht , pods o f branches, seeds of bra nches a nd seed w eigh t o f branches tended toincrease by the pro cession of cro ssbreeding. Days f rom emerg emce to maturity, plantheig ht and lodging tended to decrease. Chang e of seed w eight per plant, pods per plant ,seeds per plant , day s from emerg ence to maturity, plant height a nd stem thickness w asmore o bvio us in earlier years and w as slig ht in later y ears. Cha nge of seeds per pod, 100- seed w eigh t, pods o f branches, seeds o f branches and seed w eigh t o f branches w asslight in ea rlier yea rs and w as obvious in later yea rs. No des o f main stem, pods of mainstem, pods per node, seeds of main stem, seed w eigh t o f main stem, days f rom ful lblooming to maturity a nd seed w eight /stem weight tended to increase in earlier y earsand tended to decrease in la ter y ears. Internode length, branches, day s f rom emergenceto full blooming a nd stem w eigh t tended to decrease in ea rlier yea rs and tended to increasein later years.
